First Haircut and a Sarcastic Gift

Olivia has been cursed with my hair genes.  At first the similarities were minimal.  Having cowlicks in all the places that I do. (Hopefully Elaina can figure out what to do with them… I never could)
But then…..  Flashbacks of my high school mullet hair days were starting to appear before my eyes.  Olivia’s hair seems to grow in the back and not so much on top.  The back of her hair has naturally fanned out in this eagle tail type of formation.   The same look I achieved in high school with a blow dryer and hairspray.  The only thing missing with Olivia is the big white comb sticking out of her back pocket.
So….. off to the Hair Zoo for her first cut. CIMG6288 CIMG6292

This lady has no idea she has been immortalized in a blog FOREVER!

She finally has her first hairdo with pigtails…. which brings me to my next story….

See the little scooter above?  Precious isn’t it?  It was actually sent by my mother in law …. to me.  Not to Olivia.  To Me.
I had a biking accident last year and ended up on the couch for a few weeks.  I would show pictures but there is blood and bruising… and part of my butt.  Three items we don’t need to see here.
Sandy and Val saw it in their hearts to send a bike that is a little more my speed and that I won’t get hurt on.
I have tried extremely hard not to trip over it or stab myself with a screwdriver during installation.  And if I did?  I’d never admit it.

St. Patty’s Day

We went to a little St. Patty’s Day parade with our friends Britney and Brad.  Nearly every picture of the day includes Olivia on my shoulders.  All she wants to do is run and walk… run and walk.  By “run” I mean going at a walking pace while wildly swinging her arms.
My shoulders are the only place to keep her contained.  We might as well store the stroller now because she’s not havin’ it anymore.  Please pray for my impending back pain……

Elaina suspiciously wanted a few pictures of us in front of the fire truck… I’m pretty sure she was just trying to get shots of the firemen inside.

Don’t get any funny ideas Olivia.  At least wait until you are 14 like most kids.

Hopefully the next time I get pulled over it’s by this dude.  He was pretty cool.  I’m considering keeping this pic in my car … just in case.CIMG6316

Thanks for Taking the Poop!

One more sentence I never imagined myself hearing.  Said by Elaina as I walked out the door to take Charlie’s sample to the vet’s office…..

Hello? Is this thing on?

We took a pretty funny video of Olivia this morning.  Watch closely as she hasn't quite figured out the spoon handle vs. the spoon itself....

Four Generations... and a comedian

Last week Elaina and Olivia made an impromptu trip to surprise her mom in St. George.  I'm pretty sure there were happy tears flowing upon her arrival.

From the looks of things the girls were more than happy to be in the sunshine of St. George and out of the clouds from the NorthWest.  I'm pretty sure no time was spent indoors.... the proof is in the pictures.....

I guess first we'll document Olivia's first time seeing a garden hose...  As new parents we have to note such things...  I'm not really sure why I included this.

The girls spent some time at the park.  Wow, vacation activity sure has changed over the past year.

Ummm, what is Olivia looking at?

Olivia's favorite park activity might just be.... walking around.

She had a great time playing with her cousin Abby.

And spent LOTS of time out in the back yard enjoying the nice weather.  Olivia even met her great grandmother for the first time.

Papa Val chillin....

Four generations of fine looking ladies!

Elaina, Olivia, Val, and Uncle Nelson went to Zions for the day

Hey! Guess what????   Just more walking around

The girls had to catch an eeeaaarrrrlllyy flight home.  And who does Elaina spot in the airport?  Josh Blue, winner of Last Comic Standing a few years ago.  He was pretty friendly for being accosted for photos at 5:30 a.m.....  I don't think Olivia is a fan.  She must not get his jokes.

What happened in Coeur D' Alene while I had time to myself?  I got so much done!  I was working on projects from 2007... it was awesome!

The house was immaculate when Elaina came home.  Was it immaculate the entire time she was gone rather than me waking up extra early to clean it just in time for her arrival?  Maybe

Did I eat really healthy instead of eating take out in my office at midnight?  It's possible.

Did I hit the gym and exercise with all this time to myself?  No.
